Bereavement

The Bereavement Resource Program is a United Way funded program that provides support and education to the bereaved of Chatham-Kent and offers grief education and awareness in the community and workplace.

Grief is a normal, natural, and necessary response to a significant loss.  The Bereavement Resource Program promotes the healthy adjustment to this loss.  Healing involves accepting that the loss has occurred, experiencing the many feelings of grief, and learning to live again with hope.

Individuals and family assessment and counselling is provided, as well as workshops, referrals, community educational presentation, and public forums.

Bereavement Support Groups are ten weeks in length and are for:

  • Bereaved Parents
  • Widows and Widowers
  • Retired Widows and Widowers
  • Adult Grievers
  • Survivors of Suicide
